Weekly Crime Report – 09 September to 15 September 2024

Wednesday 11 September 2024

12H07 – A Justin street and Robertson Avenue resident reported hearing gun shots 

  • Two Brooklyn residents reported to Knightowl control room hearing gun shots
  • Armed Response was dispatched to investigate
  • Armed Response checked the area and the field and reported did not see anything out of the ordinary or suspicious, reported to both residents
  • A Justin street resident sent CCTV footage of a vehicle involved 
  • The footage was viewed some smoke was seen coming from the driver side window, could have been when the shot was fired
  • Armed response was dispatched back to check field again she did a scan through the field no sign of any body, but did found a shell casing took photo of the casing
  • NO SAPS on scene

08h52 – A Brooklyn petrol station requested assistance

  • Armed response dispatched
  • Armed response arrived on scene – reported a vehicle filled up and drove off without paying
  • Armed response swept area and found no sign of vehicle.
  • Resident informed Armed Response apparently, the suspect and vehicle is an Uber
  • Armed Response will keep a lookout for the suspect vehicle

22h55 - MEDICAL EMERGENCY – at a van der stel street resident

  • A Van der Stel street resident requested assistance and an ambulance for a female 52 years of age possible stroke 
  • Ambulance service contacted ref no 2214, said call is pending as they are very busy
  • 23h12 - Called ambulance service again and, again call is pending, call was made a priority ambulance service must acknowledge the call
  • 00h00 - Call ambulance service again, said call still pending, call was made a priority, ambulance service must acknowledge the call, so they cannot give time 
  • 00h19 – We were to we must call ER24 as, unfortunately ambulance service is still pending any chance we can call ER24
  • Called ER24  ref no 0007
  • 00h46 – ER24 ambulance service arrived on scene and attending to the patient
  • 00h55 – ambulance service was cancel where it was reported ambulance still pending
