Weekly Crime Report – 04 November to 10 November 2024

Saturday 09 November 2024

07h26 – A Milnerton resident reported an attempted break - in at there premises

  • Armed Response dispatched
  • On arrival, Armed Response noted no damage or entry made to the premises however razor wire was cut.
  • Client will repair and replace damaged razor wire 

17h05 – A Piet Grobler Street – Caretaker requested Armed Response assistance for a Tenant who was extremely aggressive, assaulting his wife and threatening to assault other Tenants. 

  • Armed Response dispatched
  • Armed Response met with Caretaker and Tenant.  Tenant extremely aggressive.  Armed Response requests SAPS assist.
  • Control Room operator contacted CoCT Emergency with Ref:  1002271145.  SAPS and Metro informed
  • Armed Response Reports Tenant produced a can of Pepper Spray and attempted to spray his wife and other Tenants.  Armed Response confiscated the Pepper Spray
  • Armed Response reports Tenant still highly aggressive.  SAPS not on scene yet.  Control contacts CoCT Emergency and they confirm SAPS had been informed
  • 18h05 - Control contacts Maitland SAPS, spoke to a Constable who confirms they will despatch a van immediately
  • 18h35 - Armed Response reports he along with Caretaker secured the Tenant in his room. SAPS still not on scene.  Armed Response hands over the confiscated Pepper Spray to the Caretaker to handover to SAPS IF they arrive.
  • Armed Response leaves premises and proceeds with normal duties

Sunday 10 November 2024

10h32 – A Milnerton resident contacted the Control Room and reported that there is a 15 year old boy on site who says he is lost and doesn’t know where he is. Apparently he comes from Langa.

  • SAPS Maitland contacted and told Control to contact Milnerton SAPS
  • The resident contacted the Control Room and confirmed they will take the boy to Milnerton SAPS themselves

17h20 –  A Rugby Club called in to report multiple male suspects on site standing around a white bakkie and it looked like alcohol was being dispensed

  • On closer inspection and monitoring, noted definite alcohol being dispensed from the back of the bakkie.  Multiple males on site drinking as well
  • Club Management informed
  • Armed Response dispatched
  • Armed Response arrives on site and confirms alcohol in use on premises.  Owner confirms club was closed and NO alcohol use allowed on premises when club is closed
  • Armed Response informs suspects to refrain from using alcohol, and for the bakkie to leave
  • Armed Response also reported he made he spoke with one of the Clubs Managers, who says the Caretaker gave them permission to be on the premises and to use alcohol
  • The club’s owners informed of the above and confirmed with the Controller to contact SAPS to remove persons who are using alcohol on site
  • CoCT Emergency contacted with Ref:  1002272824. SAPS informed
  • Owner confirmed he spoke to the caretaker and to one of the persons on site.  Persons said they will refrain from using alcohol on site, and will leave shortly
  • SAPS cancelled
  • Armed Response leaves premises with all in order
