Weekly Crime Report – 18 December to 24 December 2023

Tuesday 19 December 2023

12h18 – A Brooklyn Shop called to ask for assistance with a drunk individual sleeping by the doorway of the shop. 

  • Armed Response dispatched
  • On arrived and reported that all in order the man was woken up and asked to leave.

17h30 – Fire reported by a Section street resident

  • Armed Response Dispatched to assess 
  • On Arrival Armed Response confirmed a large grass fire behind KIA Motors. 
  • Fire Department contacted and also contacted KIA Motors who were already informed
  • Armed Response reported fire department on scene. 

Wednesday 20 December 2023

01h45 – On Patrol Armed Response reported a suspicious male tampering with a vehicle on the corner of Justin and Kings road and he also had a couch in the middle of the road. Suspect moved away in the direction of Koeberg Road

  • Armed Response reported marks on the vehicle and Officers moved the couch out the way. 
  • Armed Response tried to contact the resident about the car no answer from resident 
  • Armed Response left a note on the vehicle.

Thursday 21 December 2023

01h15 – On Patrol Armed Response reported a container truck lying on its side on the pavement in Rugby requested SAPS requested.

  • SAPS arrived on scene
  • Ambulance also on scene
  • Fire and rescue also arrived
  • No injuries or other property damage
  • Dock container yard was also informed and someone will be on route to assist with retrieving the container.

20h53 – A Palm Springs resident requested an Ambulance onsite ASAP for a female patient who seems to have overdosed on an unknown substance. Patient breathing is shallow and she is semi-conscious and vomiting

  • Emergency services contacted Ref-100154548 
  • Ambulance requested ref – 2124
  • Armed Response reported Ambulance onsite
  • Patient over to medics.

Friday 22 December 2023

22h42 – Received a call from a Roome street resident to report a suspicious male in the road who seems aggressive the resident said he had contacted SAPS but needed Armed Response as SAPS was not there yet on scene

  • Armed Response dispatched 
  • On arrival Armed Response asked the suspect to remove his vehicle as he can’t park in front of the premises as he does not live there
  • Suspect complied 
  • All in Order 

Saturday 23 December 2023

00h01 – Control Room received a call from a Kings Road resident asking for assistance from Armed Response as his wife was trying to stab him.

  • Armed Response dispatched
  • Armed Response reported upon arrival he spoke to the couple and managed to calm things down, but waited on scene as ambulance was called for the wife as she had injured her knee. 
  • Ambulance arrived – Netcare 911 – 01h06am, KM44LMGP. Ambulance was called by client.
