17h35 – A Brooklyn resident reported shots fired near ER SYFRET Street, RUGBY

  • A Rugby resident reported a shooting near ER Syfrets street, (gang related). Shooting taking place at ER Syfret, not sure if anybody is injured.
  • Law Enforcement was called, Ref no. -1002013658
  • Armed Response on scene, reported Ambulance arrived on scene at 17h02
  • Armed Response reported the ambulance took one patient to hospital
  • SAPS arrived on scene at 17h30.

21h55 - CABLE THEFT – TULBAGH ROAD

  • A Robertson Street resident sent a WhatsApp message requiring Armed Response assistance as there was someone on the neighbor's roof in Tulbagh Road
  • Suspect cut cables, jumped off and ran away. 
  • Armed Response dispatched
  • Armed Response reported – The Tulbagh street residence wires are exposed and on the ground and it could possibly still be active. Lights inside the house were flickering.

00h09 – A Rugby based club required assistance 

  • Staff member requested Armed response to come and remove lady from premises. Armed Response was already standing down on premises when the staff member requested Armed Response.
  • Armed Response reported the lady very intoxicated. She was told she had, had enough and is not going to sell liquor to her anymore. She made a scene inside the club where Armed Response removed her and spoke to her outside of the Club. Footage was checked, the lady was very aggressive.
  • Lady left the premises. all in order for now.

20h53 – A Koeberg Road resident requested Armed Response assistance for a disturbance at a premises in Koeberg Road    

  • Armed Response dispatched
  • On Arrival at the premises Armed Response found tenants drinking and making a scene. Armed Response officer approached one of the tenants who proceeded to grab the officer and started swearing at him. The aggressive tenant lives in a unit on the premises and he was very intoxicated.
  • Armed Response requested law enforcement.
  • Control Room operator called law enforcement, spoke to officer on duty, who asked for the person on scenes contact details.
  • Armed Response informed control that he cancelled law enforcement as per the residents request, as he didn’t want to press charges.
  • Armed Response continued with normal patrols.

06h46 – A resident of Kiln Street reported a vehicle break-in

  • Armed Response reported car broken into standing in Kiln Road, Rugby, cannot say who car belongs to as no-one came out to check while he was there.
  • Vehicle window was smashed, radio was taken and car was ransacked, 4 suspects wearing masks were seen running away, 2 suspects ran towards the railway line and 2 suspects ran toward the bridge
  • Suspects disappeared into the dark.
