Weekly Crime Report – 21 April to 27 April 2025

Tuesday 22 April 2025

02h58 – Accident reported on Koeberg Road - Armed Response reported a motor vehicle accident between two vehicles a drunk driver drove into another vehicle.

  • Armed Response officers while on patrol reported an accident and requested emergency services
  • The victim took the drunk suspects keys and wallet and the driver become aggressive.
  • Control room operators contacted CoCT Emergency – Ref: 1002531354 – SAPS and Traffic also informed
  • Armed Response did not engage and continued patrols

Friday 25 April 2025

12h17 – A Rugby Complex – Guard requests Armed Response for a suspicious person by the back washing line

  • Armed Response arrives on scene and notes a bravo male sitting – smoking and drinking
  • Armed Response informs suspect to leave the premises
  • Armed Response secures site and reports all in order

Saturday 26 April 2025

07h47 – Armed Response noted whilst on patrol an accident that had occurred in Kiln Road on a premises – A car had driven into the laundry wall

  • Armed Response made contact with the resident who confirmed accident occurred early morning
  • CoCT Emergency contacted – Ref:  1002539003 – SAPS informed
  • Armed Response reported SAPS arrived on scene and they let the driver leave the scene in his vehicle
  • Armed Response left scene and resumed patrols

Sunday 27 April 2025

16h08 – Shift Supervisor of a Brooklyn complex reported a Tenant who moved into a flat has Contractors on site and they are making a lot of noise which is against the rules of the Complex

  • Armed Response dispatched
  • Armed Response arrived on site and spoke to the Tenant
  • Armed Response and Security contacted the Complex management who refused to give permission for Contractors to continue making noise on site
  • Tenant complies and informs Contractors to stop the noise
  • Armed Response notes all in order and resumed patrols

19h45 – A Princess Alice street resident demanded SAPS and Armed Response on scene immediately for a drunk driver that hit a motorbike delivery driver

  • On arrival - Armed Response reports both parties leaving the scene
  • Armed Response reported resident was extremely upset as they expected the Armed Response to pursue and detain the suspect
  • Control room operator explained Armed Response cannot legally engage or detain a suspect on drunk driving
  • Armed Response did get Reg number and it was forwarded to SAPS
  • Armed Response resumed patrols
